Today I should have gone to Edinburgh but the meeting was cancelled. So I worked in the garden tidying it and for the first time this year it felt like spring.

After I had cleaned the patio I took the Landrover into town and got petrol for the lawnmower and cut most of the grass, again for the first time this year. And now the sun is drifting towards the horison and yet the air is fresh and alive and the garden looks as though it has enjoyed the work done to it.
