Factory Closures

Union bosses are suggesting that the Peugeot Ryton factory has closed because our laws make it easier. The real reason is that the factory was foreign owned (French) and it is a lot easier to close a foreign branch factory than one on your own doorstep. If the boot had been on the other foot, would the unions have sided with a management which closed a UK factory to save a French factory?

What is perhaps a worry is that most of the rest of British car production is foreign owned so equally susceptible to closure.
