Once again the MOD has got it sums wrong and the two logistics ships for the Navy will cost three times the original estimate.

Are the people who do the estimates really that poor at their jobs or is this yet another way of duping the public? Does the MOD announce that a ship will cost 130 million pounds because there will be little outcry whereas saying it’s going to cost 400 million is bound to provoke a storm from opposition MPs and their constituents?

Neither answer actually shows the government in a very good light.
